About me
I’m Matthew Chapman, a full-stack software developer. I now develop for a great team that specializes is an all-in-one Management Software and EVV solution for Home Care based in Toledo, but previously I’ve worked internationally on a wide range of projects. My biggest passion is to marry the highest quality ideas with function, achieving not just great design but also reliability.
Over the years, I have developed a reputation for going above and beyond. Innovation is in my blood. While I do celebrate the classic design principles and development methodologies, I’m not afraid to utilize newer resources that have proven to be reliable and can improve any part of the software development life cycle.

Offloaded a messaging service into AWS EC2, as well as switched from ajax calls to a publisher and subscriber structure. In response to COVID-19, I created an Interactive Voice Response logic to pre-screen staff members before visits. Alongside actual development, I manage a team of interns. I was involved in many stages of the intern process from interviewing, providing documentation to onboard quickly, to answering code specific questions from interns. In order to have integration with SalesForce I have maintained and created multiple endpoints for an API.

Created, updated, and maintained a living document to help transition users from Mainframe screens to the new web-based interface. I implemented visualizations and logic that calculated the shortest path based on Dijkstra's algorithm. Used SoapUI to test APIs and ensure basic API functionality. Learned more about Cobol and JCL and the process as the projects effort was to modernize mainframe programs. Implemented Agile Programing and even lead the daily standup as well as removed blockers. Transitioned the team to GIT as well as was the lead on any issues related to GIT.

Graduated top of the class with Magna Cum Laude and with a GPA of 3.768. In one semester I took 21 credits so that I could learn as much as I was able. Also, I found multiple outside resources such as edx.org that I could take online classes from both Harvard and MIT.
